Tres Gigantes represents the coffee growing region of San Marcos, Guatemala. The region’s typical cold and cloudy climate is contrastingly home to some of the tallest volcanoes in Central America. This volcanic elevation along with the region's proximity to the coast allow for pockets of warmer climate that boast optimal growing terroir.
Tres Gigantes is possible thanks to 20 small-scale farmers from San Marcos who work hard to produce some of the best coffees in this region, growing varieties such as Bourbon and Typica and traditionally fermenting the coffee for more than 28 hours. As the farms are located between the cloud-covered mountains with a cool climate, the coffee dries slowly, predominantly in raised beds or on the terraces, allowing it to maintain its intrinsic quality.
