In the mountainous forests of Oaxaca, Mexico, nearly 6,000 feet above sea level, grow truly exceptional coffees, unmatched in both process and quality. Coffee plants here are cultivated amongst the native trees, offering ideal shade and conditions for these plants to thrive. In recent years, the dedicated efforts of local growing communities have resulted in increasingly high-quality coffee lots, bringing fresh vitality to Oaxacan coffee farming. Our annual offering, named after the ancient Tule cypress tree – an enduring symbol that has withstood the test of time for over 2,000 years – honors the resilience of these coffee farms as they’ve navigated numerous challenges. Our team has had the privilege of visiting many of the farms contributing to this lot, allowing us to cultivate lasting relationships within the area.
This year, we’re featuring two additional coffees from Oaxaca: Tomas Pinacho, a featured single-producer lot, and Santa Maria AAA, a selection of the highest quality coffee coming out of this region.
This coffee is dry-fermented for 36 hours, before being sun-dried on concrete patios. Tule is a dynamic coffee with notes of red apple, toffee, and chocolate raspberry.
