This intricate and vibrant cup comes to us from farms nestled deep within the lush jungles of the Guerrero region in Mexico. The people who live and farm there trace their roots back to a family of environmental activists who sought refuge in the very nature they were dedicated to preserving, forming a distinctive community with a singular focus on conservation. The local economy thrives solely on coffee: over two decades ago, seven brothers, for whom this coffee is named, banded together as coffee producers to pursue new avenues and better prices for their coffee. Despite the challenges they’ve encountered, they've tirelessly endeavored to cultivate superior quality crops, harnessing the fertile soil and optimal climate of the region.
This naturally processed coffee undergoes a 36-hour anaerobic fermentation before being fully sun-dried, giving us this crisp and sweet cup with notes of citrus zest, plum, and shortbread.
